The campaign would be continued by organising collectives in all regions that the Killiyar river flowed through.
A campaign titled ‘Clean Killiyar, Save Killiyar’ by ‘Paristhithi-The Friends Nature Kerala’ was flagged off at Karakulam on Wednesday which aims to clean Killiyar river. As part of campaign bamboo and other saplings were planted on the banks of the Killiyar river. The campaign was inaugurated Environmental activist Jayachandran Kadambanadu.
Killiyar and Karamana River is being polluted as a result of dumping domestic garbage in rivers and roads. This behaviour has to stop. The campaigners partially removed the waste dumped on the riverside and alerted the authorities about the meat waste accumulated in front of the Karakulam villa project. The authorities arrived a the scene and after inspection assured the public that waste dumped on the site will be cleaned up soon.
