The demarcation of the land was conducted as part of the social impact study to assess the impact of airport development on the residents and their livelihoods.

It seems like Trivandrum Airport development is right on track as the demarcation of land allotted for the development of the airport has been completed.

The demarcation of the land was conducted as part of the social impact study to assess the impact of airport development on the residents and their livelihoods. The study is being conducted by Loyal College of Social Sciences.

The terminal building at Chackai side will be expanded with more counters and aerobridges to manage the crowd during peak hours.

The alignment of the land been completed and the team has submitted the report along with a proposal to proceed with the study to the revenue department. Now that demarcation has been completed, social impact study will be conducted.

The government had allotted an area of 18.53 acres in Vallakadavu, Pettah and Muttathara in 2014 for the airport development. But land acquisition is yet to complete due to protest from local residents. The repeated attempts by revenue officials to conduct the survey of land were prevented by the local residents.

Later, the government has decided to conduct the social impact study on the request of the residents. The residents have demanded apt compensation and support for livelihoods after eviction.

27 people who own land in the area allotted for airport development have submitted the consent to surrender their land.

Meanwhile, 27 people who own land in the area allotted for airport development have submitted the consent to surrender their land. This amounts to a total land area of 6 acres.
