First 4K short film in Malayalam is taking shape in Trivandrum

The untitled short film which is in the making is rendered in 4K resolution, making it the first UHD (Ultra High Definition) short film.

Of late, lots of young talents are into short film making for expressing their creativity. They are experimenting with many genres from humour to serious social issues through this medium.

Now a group of youngsters under the banner of BCube Short Films, is coming out with a short film which is sure to make waves and to take short film making to a whole new level. The untitled short film which is in the making is rendered in 4K resolution, making it the first UHD (Ultra High Definition) short film.

For the uninformed, 4K UHD means resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 pixels (8.3 megapixels with aspect ratio 16:9) which is seen in ultra high definition television. 4K UHD has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HDTV format, with four times as many pixels overall.

The creation of short film has already generated a huge interest in social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The short film packs lots of advanced features such as Hyper Lapse, Time Lapse, Aerial shot and it’s also the first film to be shot using a mirror-less camera.

According to the crew the short film is filled with FX by Adobe After Effects. The short film is taking shape currently at locations in Trivandrum.
