It seems like flyers arriving at the Trivandrum International Airport will have to pay more as the chances of waiver in User Fee appears to be slim. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has asked the Airports Authority of India to collect the new tariffs from the notified date which is from July.
The order was issued by AERA on the basis of a proposal submitted by the AAI to recover AAI’s investments. The order has been published after seeking the inputs from the stakeholders in a meeting held in Delhi.
New User Fee from July 1

Passengers flying in the international sector will have to pay a fee of Rs950 instead of the current rate of Rs575.
These are new User fee from July 2017 to March 2021
From April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019, the UDF for domestic passengers is Rs468 and Rs988 for the international passenger. From April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020. UDF for the domestic passenger is Rs486 and Rs 1,028 for International passengers. From April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021, the UDF for every embarking domestic passenger will be ₹506 and ₹1069 for the international passenger.
More and More charges
Currently, a throughput charges of Rs139.80 and Passenger Service Fee (PSF) Facilitation of ₹77 is now being collected from both domestic and international passengers. UDF and PSF Facilitation charges will be merged and only UDF charges will be applicable to all passengers. Children below 12 years and holders of diplomatic passport and airline crew need to pay UDF and PSF.
Flight Tickets to Get costly
AAI will also increase the landing charges, parking and housing charges, throughput charges and passenger service fee (PSF). This means flying from TRV will be costly as airline companies will increase the air fares.
Incentives to increase flight operations
To increase the domestic flight operations, 1% incentive for 75 landing per week, 2% for 125 landings, 3% for 175 landings, 4% for 225 landings, 5% for 225 landings per week has been approved. The parking fee of aircraft has been waived for the first 2 hours. The night parking charges from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. will be waived for all domestic scheduled airlines only if the State government lowers VAT on Aviation Turbine Fuel up to 5%.
