Free Wi-Fi Service at Trivandrum International Airport from this week!

The free Wi-Fi service be beneficial to International passengers which don’t have an active mobile connection.

From this week onwards, Trivandrum International Airport will start its free Wi-Fi service in its public areas.

The free Wi-Fi service which will be launched coming Friday is provided by Tata Tele Services. The Wi-Fi service is being launched as part of Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) mission to provide passenger-oriented facilities in its airports. Trivandrum is the first AAI-run airport in the country to get such a service.

The Wi-Fi internet will be free for the first 20 minutes after that the service will be charged.

The Wi-Fi internet will be free for the first 20 minutes after that the service will be charged. Passengers can use credit card or scratch card to recharge their Wi-Fi browsing time. For this, counters selling recharge coupons will be opened at the airport. It is reported that the Wi-Fi facility would be made available both at the international terminal and the domestic terminal.

Trivandrum is the first AAI-run airport in the country to get free Wi-Fi service.

When the service becomes operational, passengers can use any Wi-Fi enabled device to connect including laptop, smartphone or tablet. The service will be beneficial to International passengers which don’t have an active mobile connection as they can make international calls using services such as Skype and Viber.

AAI have plans to provide even more passenger-oriented facilities at the Trivandrum International Airport such as better bus connectivity and SMS facility to know the status of flights.

In a survey conducted last year, Trivandrum International Airport was adjudged the best AAI-run international airport in country.
