Jail Department’s Freedom Cafeteria to be revamped into a ‘hangout place’ to attract young crowd!

The main objective of all these plans is to boost the sales at both the cafeteria and the fashion store.

Soon the Freedom Cafeteria from the Central Prison will be revamped into a happening hangout place in the city.

According to the reports, jail authorities are planning to expand ‘ala carte’ of the cafeteria suiting the tastes of new generation and thereby attract more youths to the cafeteria. The place will soon start selling bakery products to achieve this aim.

A new kitchen will be setup in the cafeteria itself, equipped with a bakery unit to cater to the needs of new generation. At present, the items sold at the cafeteria are cooked in the prison kitchen inside the high walls.

The cafeteria already sells chapatis, chicken curry, vegetable korma, biriyani, tapioca and fish curry and also varieties of fruit and vegetable juices. That too at unbelievably low prices.

There were also plans to make the cafeteria available for private parties. There are as many as 4 huts with a total number of 32 seats in the cafeteria which is more than enough to arrange small parties.

The newly launched Free Fashionista store will also be revamped to suit the younger crowd.

The Free Fashionista store was inaugurated by DGP Loknath Behera last week. The boutique displays around 300 varieties of designer clothes stitched in distinct styles, by the trained prison inmates. Kurtis, kurtas, skirts, shirts and designer sarees will be put up on sale for affordable rates.
