Google unveils awesome ‘Pixel C’ tablet and 2 new Nexus smartphones!
Google announced a slew of new and updated devices at the Nexus event in San Francisco. The new devices are Pixel C a tablet, and two new Nexus smartphones – Nexus 5x and 6P.
Pixel C is a 10.2-inch high-end tablet with productivity in mind. This iPad killer has all the aesthetics you’re familiar with- an aluminium design with no exposed screws and the whole thing feels solid.
The tablet sports a resolution of 2560×1800 screen along with a pixel density of 308 ppi. Under the hood, the tablet is driven by a powerful Nvidia Tegra X1 processor and a powerful graphics card to go with it.The device runs Android Marshmellow and has a USB Type-C connector. The tablet also sports LED breathing lights to show how much charge is left in the battery.
In Pixel C, the “C” stands for convertible as the optional keyboard attaching magnetically. You can slide the tablet, flip it, and prop it up on the back, no kickstand or clasp is required. The full sized keyboard also comes in Aluminium and connects with tablet via bluetooth. When it’s closed, it will inductively charge from the tablet unit.
The 32GB unit costs $499, 64GB $599, and the keyboard is $149. There’s no international pricing yet.
The nexus 6P is Google’s most premium smartphone. The first all-metal Nexus is 7.3mm thick and is backed by a new fingerprint sensor called the Nexus Imprint.
Produced by Huawei, the Nexus 6P sports a 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4. The 6P has 3GB of RAM and is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor. The battery is rated at 3,450mAh.Nexus 6P is equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 12.3-megapixel Sony sensor on the back, which can take 4K video and slow-motion shots. It also uses a USB Type-C port and Google claims it can charge the device twice as quickly as an iPhone 6 Plus.
It will be available in frost white, aluminium, and graphite, and pricing will begin at $499.
The Nexus 5X is the successor to Nexus 5 and is a less expensive smartphone. It has a 5.2 inch 1080P screen and a fractionally bigger battery at 2700mah. It runs Android Marshmellow and is available in 16/32GB variants. It is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor, while the ram is 2GB.
For imaging it uses a 12mp laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash primary camera with 4K capability. While the secondary camera is of 5MP.Like its companion, the Nexus 6P, the 5X has a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, and it uses the new USB-C connection instead of the standard Micro USB.
