The state police is coming even more down to earth for the common man! The status of the complaint filed by a person or the First Information Report (FIR) could be viewed through the official website of the Kerala police now. The Minister for Home & Vigilance, Shri Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan inaugurated the online facility to track FIRs at a function held at Thiruvananthapuram.
The tracking of the complaint and the status could be checked through the Kerala Police Website (keralapolice.gov.in) and click the link ‘Know your FIR status. The details could be accessed either by typing the FIR number or name of the petitioner or date of registering the FIR. Apart from tracking the status, the inquiring person could get the acts and sections invoked, contact details of the investigating officer, name of the filing court and case details.
The details were conveyed to the public through the interface on the Kerala Police Website and the cases registered at police stations will be recorded through the Daily Crime Reporting and Monitoring System (DCRMS). The senior officials could monitor the progress of the investigation through online and website details help police to track crime cases.
The Citizen Helpdesk recently launched by the Kerala Police provides a trouble free interface for people who approach the Police Stations for their various requirements. The online facility to aid the commoner is provided and maintained by the Police Computer Centre at the State Crime Records Bureau of Kerala Police.
