Open I spaces are Start-up Huts which allows the start-ups to work in an eco-friendly environment within the Technopark campus.
To boost the start-up ecosystem in Kerala, Technopark Trivandrum is all set to launch Open Innovation Space (Open work spaces) at their campus. The project will be a joint initiative of Technopark-TBI and RIW(Rajadhani Technologies- Istrian Technologies- Waybeo Ventures).
So What is Open-eye spaces?
Open-eye spaces are Start-up Huts which allows the start-ups to work in an eco-friendly environment within the Technopark campus. These huts will provide plug and play facilities with four or five seats and offer innovators and students Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. Leading companies in the campus will be requested to sponsor Open I space huts.
Technopark-TBI mooted the project due to insufficient space for start-ups. “Out of the 190 odd start-ups, we could not provide space to about 40. Hence they remain as virtual. By setting up the innovation huts, we hope to provide a space for such firms to work,” said Technopark TBI Managing Director Dr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair.
The project will also offer 50 free Email IDs, software licenses, virtual work spaces, servers, cloud infrastructures and other hardware requirements for start-ups at a minimum monthly cost. Concepts like Bring your own device(BYOD) and Software as a Service(SAAS) will also be promoted. Technopark will also offer Data Farm which provides data storage facility to companies operating in the campus at a much lower cost.
Open Innovation Space will provide an ecosystem for Innovations and enhances productivity. Technopark-TBI aims to brand these huts as entrepreneurship centres and to inspire students with good ideas to come up with start ups.
