#Startups: Aimed at stimulating the growth of start-ups in the state, the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) has launched start-up cells at Trivandrum and Kochi. The decision to setup start-up cells were taken on the basis of state government’s Student Entrepreneurship Policy, 2012.

The start-up cells will serve as help desks for the budding innovative entrepreneurs and will provide assistance to incubates and start-ups in the state. Young entrepreneurs can access start-up cell either through phone or by email.
KSIDC have announced a slew of initiatives to make Kerala a sought-after destination among the young entrepreneurs. To attract high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship, KSIDC is planning to setup ‘Knowledge Network’ for linking centres of excellence like Sri ChitraThirunal Institute of Science & Technology, Amritha Institute of Science & Technology, Tropical Botanical Gardens & Research Institute etc.
It will also host the Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES), Kerala’s flagship event to establish the state as a vibrant entrepreneurial state, on September 12 also known as Kerala Entrepreneurship Day. Chief minister Oommen Chandy has unveiled the logo of YES recently.
KSIDC has been receiving a steady stream of enquiries from start-ups. These start-ups include both home-grown companies as well as young Kerala entrepreneurs from outside interested in starting enterprises in Kerala.
