A 24x7 call centre and a data centre would also be functional 30 days ahead of the Games.
The 35th National Games to be held in Kerala will be the first completely technology-enabled sporting event in the country. CMC Ltd, Hyderabad, along with an in-house ICT team, has already begun work on making the sporting event completely IT-enabled with all important services and deliverables working on an IT platform.
As part of the project, there will be a comprehensive Games Management system that covers all the key functional areas. The system will help to run the entire activities of the Games such as accreditation of nearly 30,000 participants (including athletes, coaches, managers, officials, volunteers, organizing team members and media persons), results management mechanism, spanning schedules, draws, results and medals tally at various venues in 7 Kerala districts.
The software that has been developed for the National Games is currently undergoing customization and testing. The software will be integrated with timing devices like TSR (Timing, Scoring and Results) and scoreboards at venues for displaying information. The system can also be hooked graphically with the host TV broadcaster. Online web publishing and SMS-based publishing of results will also be enabled.
At each venue, the all-it system will be connected through a LAN network and inter-stadia connectivity with the central control centre and network management control room will be through a WAN. A 24×7 call centre and a data centre would also be functional 30 days ahead of the Games.
The 2-week-long event, touted as one of the biggest sporting events that the country has seen, begins January 31 and ends February 14, 2015.
