Trivandrum Central Station gets a series of new facilities!

High resolution LED walls and display boards, coach and platform indication boards, and touchscreens etc are the passenger amenities that has been rolled out.

The new and improved passenger amenities at Trivandrum Central Station is now presented to the public. Union minister for railways, Suresh Prabhu, will inaugurate a series of facilities today (12-02-2016) at 4PM.

A total of 13 LED electronic screens, displaying information of train arrival and departure, and 5 inquiry kiosks will be available.

At Trivandrum Central a total of 13 LED electronic screens with high pixel density, displaying information of train arrival and departure, and 5 inquiry kiosks will be available. The screens in various sizes from 8 feet to 30 feet will be installed at the station entrances, platforms and foot over bridges.

A new 3,000 sq ft parking area is also available and will include a prepaid auto and taxi parking system and premium parking for passengers. Around 50 autos and 30 taxis can be parked simultaneously at the new parking area which will be managed by Kudumbashree.

The premium parking facility on the Central station premises would be for short-time parking and for those who were ready to pay more. The premium parking area can accommodate about 30 cars. A booking office with more queuing area and 12 counters is also opened to public.

The new facilities at Ernakulam and Palakkad railway station will be inaugurated by the Union minister through videoconferencing from Trivandrum.
