Trivandrum Metro Rail – Only Minimum Land to be Acquired For Sreekaryam Flyover!

The technical committee approved the new design which includes a reduction in 85-metre length from a total length of 5353-meter.

The state government has revised its notification related to land acquisition for the construction of Flyovers and junction improvement in Sreekaryam in order to reduce the amount of land to be acquired. The flyover and junction improvement project is part of Trivandrum Metro Project.

The decision to acquire less land was taken after the technical committee approved the proposal to reduce the length of the flyover at Sreekaryam. This will finally bring a solution to the protest from local people.

Reduction in length of the flyover

As per the new order, land needed to be acquired for the flyover has been reduced to 3.28 acre from 4.91 acres. The technical committee approved the new design which includes a reduction in 85-metre length from a total length of 5353-meter.

Landmarking started at Uloor

Kerala Rapid Transit Corporation Limited has started marking the land at Ulloor for the 2nd flyover. In addition to this, two more flyovers will come up at Pattom and Thampanoor. Flyover at Thampanoor is yet to get administration sanction.

Sate government has given sanction for direct purchase of 4.8 acres for metro stations and 5.22 acres for construction of flyovers as part of the project.

Flyover at Sreekaryam will be a 4-lane flyover and a total of 5.22 acres is needed for construction of flyovers at Sreekaryam, Ulloor and Pattom.
