Trivandrum Corporation has submitted DPRs for 53 projects worth Rs.357.5 crores. Currently, seven projects under stormwater drainage, one project each under urban transport and open spaces and parks are ongoing in the city under AMRUT.
Trivandrum City Corporation has become one among four civic bodies in Kerala to complete the preparation of DPRs under AMRUT scheme. Palakkad, Thrissur and Kannur are the other civic bodies which completed preparation of DPRs.
The completion of DPR for AMRUT came days after principal secretary LSG during the state high powered steering committee meeting directed the deduction of salaries of staff of state mission management unit and city mission management unit by 20% if they failed in preparing DPRs by January 5. Cities were given revised schedule by the High Powered Steering Committee held on Dec 13 to complete DPR preparation in all the five sectors by January 5, 2018.

Meanwhile, projects which were approved in the state annual action plan 2015-16 worth Rs 2.49 crores are now being implemented.
Trivandrum Corporation also got a fresh boost with state high powered steering committee giving administrative sanction to 12 projects worth Rs 112.20 crores in the city. These projects include sewerage, urban transport, storm water drainage, water supply and park.
At present, 48 projects have received administrative sanction in the city under AMRUT and technical sanction has been awarded to 13 projects. 10 works have been tendered and 10 have been awarded.
