Uber Cabs service launched in Trivandrum!
Uber – the world’s leading driver service quietly launched in Trivandrum. With the launch, Trivandrum has joined the league of 21 cities in the country where the popular taxi and ridesharing service has a presence in.
In Trivandrum Uber only launched its ultra-cheap variant ‘UberGo’ where commuters can opt for hatchbacks.

In Trivandrum Uber only launched its ultra-cheap variant ‘UberGo’. UberGO variant is where commuters can opt for hatchbacks that are more affordable. The base fare starts at Rs 50 and Rs 1 for every minute and Rs9 for every kilometre. One should expect longer ETAs as currently only few cars are deployed on the streets.
Launched in 2009 Uber is a ridesharing service based in San Francisco. Uber connects passengers to a background-checked driver via a smartphone app. Uber is simply a booking platform, and the cars are not operated by the company. Curretly Uber operates in 59 countries globally.
One should expect longer ETAs as currently only few cars are deployed on the streets.
The company currently averages about 200,000 trips a day in India, according to industry sources. By comparison, rival Ola, backed by Japan’s Softbank, says it clocks more than 750,000 a day and expects to hit 1 million this month. Uber has said it will invest $1 billion in India in the next nine months, matching its investments in China.
Earlier Ola Cabs launched its service in Trivandrum and Uber will be mainly competing with them in Trivandrum. Lasy year Uber came to Kochi.
