Workshop on Advances in Open Source Robotics
International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) is conducting a two day Workshop on ‘Advances in Open Source Robotics’ on March 22 and 23 at Hotel Keys, Trivandrum. The workshop is targeted at students and open source robotics enthusiasts.
Open Source robotics is branch of robotics where robots for study and extension are made using available design, schematics and source code under an open source license.
The workshop will cover topics on Introduction to Robotics and Emerging Technologies in Robotics and Automation. It will also have hands- on projects such as Line following robot, Accelerometer based remote control, Obstacle avoiding vehicle and even Android-controlled Vehicle.
Dr Raj Madhavan, Associate Research Scientist at the University of Maryland, US and a guest researcher with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA will be lead faculty of the program.
Entry to the workshop is free for students and for others it is Rs1000. Interested people should register prior to the workshop. Seats will be allocated on a First-come-first-served basis. So hurry!
