Soorya Krishnamurthy, one of the jury members of the award committee responded to all the allegations with a strong statement.

Ever since the Kerala State Film Awards has been announced, many controversies and speculations started doing the rounds. One such case is Jayaram not winning the best actor award. Even though the actor was included in the final list of competitors for his brilliant performances in ‘Nadan’ and ‘Swapanam’, Fahadh Fazil and Lal were finally announced as winners. There had been differences of opinion to this and people raised voices against this decision.

Fahadh Faasil – A Truly Deserving Artist or Just another Transient Glory?

Soorya Krishnamurthy, one of the jury members of the award committee responded to all the allegations with a strong statement. He said that Jayaram didn’t bag the award as his acting was too dramatic. He also added that there he had no personal grudges towards the actor, but when the present age is considered, subtlety overrides drama and Jayaram’s performance was outdated.

When asked to comment on this, Jayaram’s first response was that he was used to being considered in the final list and never receiving the award. Mr. Krishnamoorthy’s statement can be looked at as an answer to Jayaram’s response.
