PDT combines a photo-sensitizer drug with a specific type of light to kill cancer cells. When photo-sensitizers are exposed to a specific wavelength of light, they produce a form of oxygen that kills cancer cells.<\/p>\n<p>PDT treatment is currently available only in the developed countries. Vinvish Technologies developed this device at a lower cost so that cancer patients in India can also have PDT treatment. It is the first-of-its kind product in India and has recently commercialized this in the Indian market. PDT project is partially funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.\u00a0 <strong>Vinvish Technologies<\/strong> have already tie up with many R&amp;D facilities in India including, <a title=\"RCC Trivandrum; A real blessing for the Cancer Patients\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/rcc-trivandrum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Regional Cancer Centre in Trivandrum (RCC, Trivandrum).<\/a> Vinvish Technologies is a product development company which focuses in areas such as aerospace, defence, medical and R&amp;D.<\/p>\n<p>India Innovation Growth Programme (IIGP) received almost 1000 applications from sectors as diverse as clean energy, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, robotics etc. IIGP 2013 is a joint initiative of FICCI, the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India; Lockheed Martin Corporation; Indo-US Science and Technology Forum; Stanford Graduate School of Business and the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas.
