Visually impaired only need to say the name of the newspaper and Varthamozhy will read it out for them. The application enables users to select the newspapers of their choice. The user can also choose to read the contents under a particular headline or select a specific page of the newspaper. User can also save the news to read them later. Varthamozhy will update the news in real time.<\/p>\n<p>N.T. Nair, chief editor, Executive Knowledge Lines, released the application at the three-day \u2018<a title=\"Tec X13 \u2013 National Technology Day celebration at CDAC Trivandrum\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/tec-x13-national-technology-day-celebration-at-cdac-trivandrum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Technology exposition<\/a>\u2019 organized by C-DAC. CDAC Trivandrum has also developed another watch which is also a security device at the &#8216;Technology exposition&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis GPS enabled device can alert the person\u2019s relatives or police officials who can track the person wearing it,\u201d C-DAC officials said.<\/p>\n<p>C-DAC has also introduced two mobile telemedicine units called <strong>Sanjeevani<\/strong> and <strong>Sunayna<\/strong>. Sanjeevani is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments for detecting lifestyle diseases and cervical cancer while Sunayna is an advanced eye care unit which detects glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
