For this, the department has prepared a detailed Master plan.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is to preserve the heritage status of Shanghumugham beach and to provide basic amenities for the people who visit the place. Renovation of \u2018Arattukulam\u2019, modification of the stone mandaps, park and better lighting system are part of the project.\u00a0 The children\u2019s park will be upgraded and beautified with more facilities. Separate zones for children and elders will also be set up there. Considering the heavy rush, a play area will also come up apart from the children\u2019s park.<\/p>\n<p>An open air theatre, video hall and refreshment counters will also be constructed. There will be a training area for skating exclusively meant for children adjacent to the indoor stadium.
