{"id":10583,"date":"2013-05-20T11:35:05","date_gmt":"2013-05-20T06:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=10583"},"modified":"2013-05-20T11:35:05","modified_gmt":"2013-05-20T06:05:05","slug":"13th-international-filca-film-festival-in-trivandrum-from-may-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/13th-international-filca-film-festival-in-trivandrum-from-may-24\/","title":{"rendered":"13th International FILCA film festival in Trivandrum from May 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>13th International Film Festival organised by the Film Lovers Cultural Association (FILCA)<\/strong> will be held at Kerala University Students Centre, <strong>Trivandrum from May 24 to 30.<\/strong> The film festival, being held in association with Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Federation of Film Societies of India and Cultural Affairs Department will be inaugurated by Adoor Gopalakrishnan. \u00a0Girish Kasaravalli\u2019s \u2018Koormavatara\u2019 will be the opening film. A retrospective of legendary Russian film-maker Andrei Takovsky would be shown at the festival. His famous films &#8216;Nostalgia&#8217;, &#8216;The Mirror&#8217;,\u00a0 &#8216;Stalker&#8217;, &#8216;Solaris&#8217;, &#8216;Sacrifice&#8217; and &#8216;Ivan&#8217;s Childhood&#8217; would be screened.<\/p>\n<p>In the Country Focus section famous Hungarian films such as \u2018Time\u2019, \u2018White Palms\u2019, \u2018The Man from London\u2019, \u2018Football of the Good Old Days\u2019, \u2018Red Psalm\u2019, \u2018Mephisto\u2019 and \u2018Taxiderma\u2019 are also included. Indian films like \u2018ID\u2019, \u2018Madhubana Kadai\u2019 and \u2018The Japanese Wife\u2019 will be screened also.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the film festival, a campus film festival will be conducted and awards will be given to best films. A cash prize of Rs.25,000 would be given to the best entry in the short film competition held earlier by FILCA. An &#8216;Open Forum&#8217; will be conducted daily at the festival.<\/p>\n<p>FILCA had been forced to conduct the festival at the University Students\u2019 Centre here, as the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) had refused to give them the Kalabhavan theatre for holding it, said FILCA General Secretary M.K.P. Nair.
