{"id":10722,"date":"2013-05-23T17:50:56","date_gmt":"2013-05-23T12:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=10722"},"modified":"2013-05-23T17:50:56","modified_gmt":"2013-05-23T12:20:56","slug":"city-police-to-conduct-awareness-classes-on-cyber-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/city-police-to-conduct-awareness-classes-on-cyber-crime\/","title":{"rendered":"City police to conduct awareness classes on Cyber crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the light of increasing crimes over the Internet, the city police have decided to conduct interactive classes and seminars on <a title=\"Facebook a medium for cyber bullying?\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/entenews\/facebook-a-medium-for-cyber-bullying\/\" target=\"_blank\">cyber crimes<\/a>.\u00a0 The interactive classes are aimed to create awareness among general public and students.<\/p>\n<p>The classes are conducted by <a title=\"Kerala Cyber Cell to release a second list of illegal downloaders\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/kerala-cyber-cell-to-release-a-second-list-of-illegal-viewers\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kerala Police Cyber Cell<\/a> and will includes sessions on various cyber crimes, punishment for cyber crimes and patrolling in the cyber space. The objective is to promote safe and effective use of Information &amp; Communications Technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is not to create a scare about Internet use but to promote its safe use among the public.\u201d said <strong>City Police Commissioner P Vijayan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The classes will use audio-visual communication tools and the Cyber Cell officials will interact with the participants of these classes. Participants can clear their doubts regarding cyber crimes with police officials during the interactive session. Also, the officers will present case studies of recent high-profile cyber crimes along with the investigation and prosecution steps initiated for them.<\/p>\n<p>The classes will be conducted in co-ordination with schools, colleges and various residents\u2019 associations in the city.
