To monitor the internet for illegal activities and to give the cyber cell a technological edge over cyber criminals, the state home department will set up a cyber security centre at Technopark, Trivandrum. The project named \u201cKerala Police Cyberdome<\/strong>,\u201d is high-tech centre for cyber security solutions and innovations. The Cyberdome will act as an online police patrol. Cyber criminals constantly update their methods and have made most of the cyber-forensic tools used by the police obsolete. Hence, it’s time for the police to update its technology constantly to keep pace with the cyber criminals.<\/p>\n

The centre will come up in a 5,000SF secure facility at the Technopark campus. With Cyberdome, the cops will be able to gather intelligence on various cyber crimes in near real time and can also track cyber criminals by monitoring their online activities which also include social networking sites.<\/p>\n

The system can be used to track online payments to prevent money laundering and transferring of funds to untrustworthy organizations. It can also create a digital archive of stolen and lost vehicles, valuable documents and issue cyber security advisories. Cyberdome will also become an innovation centre where new softwares and solutions to policing issues will be tested. The centre will also work with film and music industry to combat online piracy.<\/p>\n

IT companies have been invited to take part in the social responsibility by providing the law-enforcement agencies their latest technology free of cost or at nominal rates and experts for specific tasks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
