In support of the Vizhinjam Port<\/strong> project a Facebook fraternity named Tree-Van-Drum<\/strong> organized a bike rally on Friday. The rally which started by Kowdiar was flagged of K.Muraleedharan MLA and it concluded at Vizhinjam market by 6pm. Over twenty bikes and cars took part in the rally and as many as 35 members of the fraternity participated in the rally displaying the message ‘We for Vizhinjam’<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Vizhinjam port is at its crucial phase. At this point we thought that it is our responsibility to extend full support to this project as well as garner support from our fellow citizens,” said Abhishek<\/strong>, a mechanical engineer who is one of the organizers of the Tree-Van- Drum Facebook group.<\/p>\n

Accompanying the rally was an LED screen mounted vehicle which screened a video titled ‘Vizhinjam is our birth right’<\/strong>. The video was launched by M Vijayakumar former minister of ports. It was played at all the major junctions and places in and around the city.<\/p>\n

“Most people in the city are unaware of the significance of the project and how it will benefit us economically and socially. Our duty is to make them aware of the highlights of the port. Though we are a group of youngsters, we are supported by many others from outside.” Abhishek added.<\/p>\n

Tree-Van-Drum<\/a> is a Facebook group formed by a group of youngsters in 2011 aimed at branding Trivandrum city. The group focuses on the development of Trivandrum and involves in various activities related to the city.
