The authorities submitted four designs from different architects and the public was asked to select the best of the designs. Though the design of a Kozhikode-based firm was selected, differences on land acquisition and profit sharing brought the project to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>Now after two years the project has gathered a new momentum. The authorities have decided to revive the modernization of the <a title=\"Best 5 Shopping Destinations in EnteTrivandrum.\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/best-5-shopping-destination-in-entetrivandrum\/\"><strong>Connemara Market at Palayam<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 The civic body and Trida are considering the two proposals submitted by a city-based firm for modernization and the Kozhikode-based firm. The original plan was to entrust these firm with the project However, when Inkel entered the scene, the proposal was put on hold. Now the plan is to consider the two available proposals and, if needed, a fresh EOI (expression of interest) from another private agency will be called. With Inkel out of the project, it is believed that the project will start soon.<\/p>\n<p>According to the project, the renovated Palayalm market will contain shopping malls, international convention and commercial centres, office zones, entertainment zones such as skating ring, multiplex and food court, parking facilities and landscaped grounds. The project would be set up in six acres. Rehabilitating <strong>50 merchants<\/strong> and <strong>400 vendors<\/strong> who have established businesses in the area will be a challenging task for Trida and the Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are planning to relocate them to temporary stalls near the fly-over.
