But it has a vital and complementary role to play in the rejuvenation and palliation of cancer patients after treatment. Many drugs in the classic Ayurveda texts have proven anti-inflammatory properties that should be explored for the common good of cancer patients,\u201d says K. Ramdas, the Medical Superintendent of <a title=\"RCC Trivandrum; A real blessing for the Cancer Patients\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/rcc-trivandrum\/\">RCC Trivandrum<\/a>, who is also the head of the Head and Neck cancer division.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Head and Neck cancer division at the RCC Trivandrum has been conducting research projects in Ayurveda for the past 13 years.<\/strong> One of the main areas of research is the potential of various plant-based molecules in reducing the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.<\/p>\n<p>| Also Read &#8211; \u00a0<a title=\"Government to setup Mini RCC\u2019s and Organ transplant institute\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/government-to-setup-mini-rccs-and-organ-transplant-institute\/\">Government to setup Mini RCC\u2019s and Organ transplant institute\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn managing the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, many herbal components have been found to be more effective in its natural forms than as an isolated molecule. Some of these phyto components have been found to give excellent results in improving issues of persistent immuno suppression in some patients with head and neck cancers even after they are cured of the disease,\u201d Dr. Ramdas says.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that many patients ask the doctors if they can go for Ayurveda, yoga, or meditation therapies after they complete their chemo or radiation treatment.
