Nokia has officially unveiled the Lumia 1020<\/strong> with a powerful 41-megapixel camera<\/strong> in an event in New York. \u00a0The 41-megapixel camera touted as offering “more detail than the eye can see” is making a second appearance in Nokia\u2019s portfolio after the inaugural Pureview 808.<\/p>\n

The Camera<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Nokia, Lumia 1020<\/strong><\/a> Smartphone “is able to produce some of the sharpest images possible by any digital camera.” The Lumia 1020 features Nokia\u2019s second-generation optical image stabilisation (OIS) engine and Zeiss optics<\/strong> with a 6-lens design. It also has the largest back side illuminated (BSI) sensor available on a Smartphone. The device also has a xenon flash with manual shutter. The camera can shoot full HD video at 30 fps with impressive numbers for lossless zoom – 4x in 1080p<\/strong> and 6x in 720p<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There is also an array of manual controls for the camera such as flash, focus, ISO, shutter speed, white balance and exposure. While on the software side, Nokia Pro Camera<\/strong> brings some new editing tools to adjust pictures. Using the dual capture feature, Nokia Lumia 1020 can simultaneously take high resolution 38 mega-pixel image for editing opportunities, and a five-megapixel picture that is easy to share on social networks.<\/p>\n

Hardware<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lumia 1020 weighs 158 grams and has a dimension of 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm. Nokia Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5-inch AMOLED 720p display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5Ghz. Phone runs on Windows 8 operating system<\/strong><\/a> and has 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.<\/p>\n

For connectivity it uses USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC with SIM based security, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Glonass, 3.5 mm audio connector. It has a 2000 mAh battery which provides a maximum talk time (3G) of 13.3 hour and supports wireless charging via accessory cover. The phone will be available in three colour variants – black, white and yellow.<\/p>\n

Nokia Lumia 1020 Price in India is yet to be announced.<\/strong> In US it is priced at $299.99 (Approx Rs 18,000) for a two-year contract. Pre-orders will start from July 16.<\/p>\n
