It is often said against the youth of today that they live only for themselves without a care for the less fortunate in our world. They are painted to be selfish, self serving persons who do not care even for their parents. But in reality there are youngsters who have compassion in their hearts and are ready to go that extra mile, to help the needy they meet in their lives.<\/p>\n

Aswathy<\/strong> is one such person who has made it her life’s mission to provide food to the hungry, destitute persons on the streets. A student who studies for law and balances a job as a marketing executive, Aswathy prepares food at her home every day and supplies it to the homeless on the streets.<\/p>\n

“My grandmother and mother have toiled for years to give us a living. We have known the hardships of poverty and hunger in the past. Now with improved financial condition I believe it is the least i could do to set apart a portion of my income for the destitute” says Aswathy.<\/p>\n

Aswathy has the full support of her grandmother, mother and sister in her mission. She used to visit General Hospital<\/strong> especially, the infamous 9th ward<\/strong> which houses patients in pathetic conditions. Though she did not get much support from the officials, she was determined to go forward with her decision.<\/p>\n

Often people would mock her and discourage her activities but Aswathy never heeded their opinions and continued her mission undeterred. She wishes that, the society is more sensitive and compassionate about the less fortunate among them and do everything they can to improve their lives.<\/p>\n
