It can even act as a catalyst for many political movements. With Facebook, it has become easier than ever to share events with the world as they unfold right in front of people\u2019s eyes. Many government departments and law enforcing agencies use social media to interact with their citizens. We can use social media to draw the attention of the administration and speed up the rather slow pace of official processes.<\/p>\n<p>This was proved when a 4-year old pending matter of nine families were resolved\u00a0 after a student, related to one of the families, posted a complaint on Facebook. <strong>S Arunkumar<\/strong>, a student from Madurai posted his family\u2019s plight on the Facebook page of the Madurai <strong>district collector Anshul Mishra<\/strong>. To my surprise, I got the reply immediately. Subsequently, the work was done.&#8221; said S Arunkumar.<\/p>\n<p>Arunkumar is a resident of Panaiyur village and the representative of nine families. The nine economically poor families had been running from pillar-to-post to get house Pattas in a hamlet 10 km from Madurai. They had approached several officials for resolving the issue and had allegedly paid a bribe of <strong>Rs 10,000<\/strong> to a junior assistant last year.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Arunkumar, who has just completed his Plus-2 came to the rescue of the villagers.
