{"id":12390,"date":"2013-07-18T14:30:13","date_gmt":"2013-07-18T09:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=12390"},"modified":"2013-07-18T19:30:36","modified_gmt":"2013-07-18T14:00:36","slug":"rs109-crore-tourism-projects-in-trivandrum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/rs109-crore-tourism-projects-in-trivandrum\/","title":{"rendered":"Rs109 crore sanctioned for tourism projects in Trivandrum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>State government has sanctioned<strong> Rs109 crore<\/strong> for various tourism projects in Trivandrum, of which a sum of Rs 12.37 crore has been earmarked for the development of Kovalam as an international tourism destination.<\/p>\n<p>The various projects includes- development of innovative tourism projects at Rs 1 crore, a House Boat Tracking And Safety Management System at Rs 1.58 crore, construction of water dams for sea plane service: Rs 2.79 crore, setting up of lounge-cum-information centres in airports: Rs 37.70 lakh, improving efficiency of tourism information centres: Rs 26.60 lakh, setting up of tourist interpretation centre, conference hall and parking facility in the Tourism Directorate: Rs 57 lakh.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Kovalam Development Package<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For the development of Kovalam as an international tourist destination, government has allocated Rs 3.84 crore for the development of roads, Rs 1.75 crore for the construction of cultural and tourist facility centre, Rs 1.62 crore for modernisation of street lamps in beaches, Rs 4.68 crore for sun bath park and Rs33.21 lakh for pollution control in the area.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Related News<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/shanghumugham-beach-to-get-facelift\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shanghumugham Beach to get facelift<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/rs10000-crore-investment-for-trivandrum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rs10,000 Crore Investment for Trivandrum<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other projects include construction of trekking circuit in Aruvikkara, Kallara, Ponmudi, Peppara and Neyyar Dam at Rs40Lakh, setting up of way-side tourism facilitation centre at Rs 1.36 crore and Rs 1.68 crore for social tourism.
