The project was conceived following deliberations with Southern Railway and the Corporation had approached the <strong>Suchitwa Mission<\/strong> seeking funds for the construction. The project will be implemented with funds from the State government since the Southern Railway had informed its inability to fund the project.<\/p>\n<p>The 540-metre long, 0.84-metre high and 6.5-metre wide platform that will come up at Kadakkavoor railway station will cost <strong>Rs.48 lakh<\/strong>. To prevent any leachate from leaking out, a polythene sheet will be laid at the base first. Then a layer of soil and clay would be evenly spread over polythene sheet to make a 35cm thick coating. After that garbage will be compacted and deposited over these layers.
