Smartphones are getting bigger closing the gap with tablets. In fact, at a point where the smartphone screen crosses the 6-inch, it’s called as ‘phablets’. Now Sony has also recently forayed into this segment, with its new device, the Xperia Z Ultra at Rs 46,990<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Unveiled in June, Sony claims the Xperia Z Ultra to be the world’s slimmest and largest full HD smartphone. Weighing 212g and 6.5mm thick, the smartphone is both waterproof and dust resistant. In terms of design Xperia Z Ultra\u00a0 is same as that of Xperia Z<\/strong> smartphone and features on-screen keys as well as scratch-resistant and shatterproof glass.<\/p>\n

Sony Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4-inch<\/strong> display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 344ppi pixel density. It is powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU, Qualcomm’s latest and powerful processor, clocked at 2.2GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU, backed by 2GB RAM.<\/p>\n

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS<\/strong> and a Lithium Ion battery rated at 3050 mAh with the ability to provide 16 hours of continuous talk-time on 3G. It also has an internal storage of 16GB, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD.<\/p>\n

For imaging it uses an 8 megapixel camera<\/strong> with “Exmor RS for mobile” sensor that can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. It also has a front-facing 2MP camera for video chats. And for connectivity the smartphone consists of 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB 2.0.\u00a0Sony Xperia Z Ultra will be available in multiple colours including Black, White and Purple.<\/p>\n

The smartphone will come with preinstalled Sony TV<\/strong> and Sony Music apps, along with free BigFlix movie streaming app for a month and the full version of Asphalt 7 racing game.\u00a0 Xperia Z Ultra will be hitting store shelves in India from August 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
