The amount has been allotted for taking up 449 works in various parts of the district.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the works had already begun and contractors would be asked to complete the repair works of roads that come under the guarantee period. If the contractors do not complete the repair work within a specific period, the PWD would take up the work and the expense would be recovered from the contractor\u2019s security deposit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Kunchalummoodu area in the Karamana-Poojappura stretch, Chiramukku-Iranimuttam, G K Junction-Airport Road, Vijayamohini Mill-Punnakkamukal Road and the stretch between Nedumangad and Paruthipally are the most damaged roads in the district&#8221; PWD Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju said<\/p>\n<p>Some of the roads in the district had been damaged due to the works of the Kerala Water Authority and the repair works on those roads could not be taken up unless the KWA completes the work.<\/p>\n<p>PWD Minister also said that land acquisition was completed for the first phase of widening of the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila NH road. The stretch between Karamana and Pravachambalam is included in the first phase of the project and tender will be issued at the earliest.
