Moviegoers can rejoice as one more theatre opened its doors in the city. Devipriya, the second screen at Sree Padmanabha<\/a> with all multiplex facilities, was inaugurated by mayor K Chandrika on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 197-seat theatre will start functioning from coming Thursday and the first film to be screened is \u2018Sringaravelan\u2019 starring Dileep in the lead. Devipriya is a portion of the reserved class below the Sree Padmanbha balcony.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe concept of big cinemas in slowly disappearing across the globe. An enlarged home theatre experience with superior comfort level is what people expect nowadays. Devipriya, equipped with state-of-the-art sound and picture technologies, will give an enhanced movie-watching experience,\u201d says Girish Chandran, theatre owner.<\/p>\n

The highlights of Devipriya include Dolby 7.1 surround sound system, JBL speakers, JBL amplifiers, Barco digital projector, multiplex comfort seating, LED lighting and a screen size with 13 feet width and 14 feet height. Like Sree Padmanabha, Devipriya will also have the laser show.<\/p>\n

Another specialty of Devipriya is the fabric interiors. \u201cNormally theatres have plaster of Paris interiors. Fabric interiors increase the theatre\u2019s visual appeal and comfort levels,\u201d he adds. With LED lighting and A\/C system Devipriya will offer the best movie going experience to the viewers.<\/p>\n

Sree Padmanbha is the first theatre in the city that was upgraded to multiplex standards and it\u2019s also one of the few theatres in the state that was selected as platinum grade for best projection, sound system, seating and maintenance.<\/p>\n
