Brace yourself for a mega music event this Onam, as six bands are set to rock you on Uthradam Day. <strong>Uthrada Chinthu- an alternative music festival is all set to ring in Uthradom on September 15th at Manaveeyam Veethi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Leading the pack is the<strong> Avial<\/strong>, Trivandrum&#8217;s own rock band followed by the folksy &#8216;<strong>Pathayam<\/strong>&#8216;. Joining them are &#8216;<strong>Black Letters<\/strong>&#8216;, the rock n rollers from Kochi, &#8216;<strong>Jhanu<\/strong>&#8216;, Tamil rock icons, &#8216;<strong>Coshish<\/strong>&#8216; the prog-rock band from Mumbai and finally &#8216;<strong>Skrat&#8217;<\/strong> the garage rock trio from Chennai.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-13614\" alt=\"avial\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2013\/09\/avial-611x513.jpg\" width=\"611\" height=\"513\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/avial-611x513.jpg 611w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/avial.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 611px) 100vw, 611px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Avial needs no introduction. They come up with a unique, cosmopolitan sound that defies classification. Avial blends Malayalam poetry with Alternative rock music with elements of indie rock and folk music. It has an increasing fan following with a revolutionary approach in today\u2019s contemporary music scenes in India. The band is famous for its infectious energy and significantly variant song writing. Black Letters is known for its reluctance to stick to any one genre or style, which in turn ensures something for everyone. The band sings about whatever comes first and goes with the flow. Jhanu sings about love, discos, God and everything else. They don\u2019t have one specific type of music but if they have to give their genre a name, it would be called<strong> \u2018MOJO Rock\u2019 which basically means \u2018all out energy\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-13615\" alt=\"Coshish\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2013\/09\/Coshish-768x454.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/Coshish-768x454.jpg 768w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/Coshish-160x95.jpg 160w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/Coshish.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Coshish is a progressive Rock band from Mumbai. The band fuses elements of progressive rock, with the more easily acceptable mainstream song writing styles of Hindi Rock. Their songs carry very strong social messages, delivered beautifully through Hindi lyrics. Coshish leaves little to be desired by ensuring that they do not compromise on any facet of their music.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-13617\" alt=\"skrat\" src=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/files\/2013\/09\/skrat-768x510.jpg\" width=\"614\" height=\"408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/skrat-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/skrat-222x148.jpg 222w, https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/files\/2013\/09\/skrat.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Skrat is an alt rock trio of 24-year-olds from Chennai. The three bonded at 18 over a common love for The Foo Fighters and the dreariness of life at an engineering college.\u00a0\u00a0 They got gigging six days after forming the band in 2006 and released an album titled \u2018Design\u2019 in 2010.\u00a0 In an environment of predominantly metal music, this original-rock act got the crowd and went on to play over 100 gigs, and counting. This includes most of the major cities in South India, Mumbai and an independent festival in Reading, England.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Entry is free!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Uthradachinthu is the beginning of a new tradition.
