#EnteTrivandrum:<\/strong> An elderly woman was shocked when she found an unusual and nauseating ingredient in her pea curry.<\/p>\n

The woman found a dead snake hatchling in a packet of curry served by Medical College <\/a>Teachers’ Co-operative Society canteen in Trivandrum on Wednesday. Following the incident Food Safety Authority have taken samples of the food and shut down the canteen.<\/p>\n

V Omana from Nedumangadu found the dead baby snake in the appam curry set ordered as parcel at Medical College hospital for the breakfast<\/strong>. Shocked to see the worm-like creature in the curry, Omana approached a doctor at the hospital. The doctor informed that it was a baby snake. Soon, Omana informed food safety officials.<\/p>\n

The Food Safety wing collected the samples and sent them to laboratory. “It looked like a worm at first. Later we confirmed that it was a young snake. We have inspected the canteen and sealed it.” said Food Safety Officer Satish Kumar.<\/p>\n

Food safety authorities said that the matter was serious and the canteen will not be allowed to open. Once they get the lab report, authorities will file a detailed report to food safety commissioner and Medical College superintend.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile a protesting crowd gathered at the canteen soon and the hospital authorities then informed the police.<\/p>\n
