In a bid to support the Student entrepreneurs, Kerala Government has allocated an amount of Rs500 crore for entrepreneurship schemes aimed at students. The allocated amount is approximately one percent of the state\u2019s budget as revealed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.<\/p>\n

“Last year we announced the Student Entrepreneurship Policy<\/a> (SEP) and it has had a huge response from the young, mostly students who have turned to the IT sector. This time, we are now extending this to other sectors also,” Chandy said after he connected with students through Google Plus Hangout.<\/p>\n

The allocated funds will be available to students those who are venturing out in the fields such as industries, entertainment, tourism, agriculture and similar sectors. He also announced that all colleges in the state have been asked to begin entrepreneurship development clubs. As per \u2018Student Entrepreneurship Policy\u2019, all student entrepreneurs will now get 20 percent grace on attendance and four percent on marks. In phase II, the project was recently extended to school going students.<\/p>\n

Chief Minister declared September 12 as the state\u2019s Entrepreneurship Day. In the event, Chief Minister connected with more than two million school and college students through Google Plus Hangout.<\/p>\n
