Even though, MVD has a 10 storied building situated at the heart of the city called the <strong>Trans Towers<\/strong>, the department is forced to work in a rented building.<\/p>\n<p>Trans Towers was constructed by KTDFC on BOT basis in 2006. Even after 7 years, KTDFC is unwilling to handover the building to MVD. It was in February 2003, that the <a title=\"RTO Trivandrum \u2013 How to Apply for License &amp; Address Details\" href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/rto-trivandrum-details\/\" target=\"_blank\">Motor Vehicles Department<\/a>\u00a0gave the 50 cents of land to KTDFC to construct the Trans Towers on BOT basis. According to the agreement, KTDFC was supposed to hand over the building to MVD once they collect Rs7crore which was the total cost of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the KTDFC is saying that, the financial corporation had to spent nearly <strong>Rs22 crore<\/strong> for the completion of the project. Meanwhile, MVD officials say that, KTDFC has collected a considerable amount of money from the Trans Towers\u00a0within the last seven years. As per the agreement, MVD have to give the remaining amount to reclaim the building. However, current financial situation of MVD doesn\u2019t allow, giving such a huge amount.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, RT Office is functioning at KSRTC building at East Fort. The office of the Deputy Transport Commissioner and the Traffic Control Room, currently functioning at Trans Towers are forced to move to Civil Station at Kudapanakunnu. Having a full-fledged control room and office at the heart of the city offers so many advantages to the Motor Vehicle Department.<\/p>\n<p>The unfortunate situation happened to MVD while the department is gaining popularity among the people for educating public about <a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/40-drop-in-road-accidents-thanks-to-rishi-raj-sing\/\" target=\"_blank\">good road culture with Transport Commissioner Rishiraj Singh<\/a> at the helm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motor Vehicles Department who often come up with new ideas and solutions to ensure road safety is currently facing some litigation issues.
