{"id":14624,"date":"2013-10-30T22:48:52","date_gmt":"2013-10-30T17:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=14624"},"modified":"2013-10-30T22:48:52","modified_gmt":"2013-10-30T17:18:52","slug":"land-acquisition-for-karamana-kaliyikkavila-nh-started","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/land-acquisition-for-karamana-kaliyikkavila-nh-started\/","title":{"rendered":"Land acquisition for Karamana \u2013 Kaliyikkavila NH Started"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>#EnteThiruvananthapuram:<\/strong> The widening project of the 29.2-km Karamana-Kaliyikkavila stretch of the National Highway has got a boost with district administration started acquiring land from another 60 persons in the Karamana-Pappanamcode stretch.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/work-on-games-village-started\/\" target=\"_blank\">Work on Games Village at Menamkulam started<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 60 people were among the 232 persons who had agreed to surrender land for the widening of the National Highway. These people have got the compensation and they have handed over the land and buildings to the PWD. For those who are left with less than three cents of land after surrendering land, are eligible for concessions in building rules.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, PWD had taken over the land of 14 persons during June this year. They were paid a compensation of Rs.2.70 crore. District Administration will acquire the land of the remaining 170 landowners, on the Karamana-Pappanamcode stretch, in phases. The objective is to complete the land acquisition process in the \u2018first reach\u2019 from Karamana to Pravachambalam by November end. The State government had sanctioned Rs208 crore in addition to the Rs.100 crore sanctioned to acquire land on the Karamana-Pravachambalam stretch.<\/p>\n<p>The work is planned to commence by December. The 12-km stretch from Karamana to Vazhimukku would be taken up in the first phase.
