After months of speculation and rumours, Google<\/a> finally took the curtains off the Nexus 5 Smartphone and Android 4.4 KitKat<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Google Nexus 5 has been developed in association with LG and it will be the first device to run the latest KitKat candy bar OS.\u00a0 Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch full-HD IPS display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3 panel and is powered by a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor alongside 2GB of RAM. The device will be available in 16 and 32GB versions with no microSD support and come in white and black colours. Powered by a 2,300mAh battery, this device has wireless charging<\/em> too.<\/p>\n

Nexus 5 uses an 8 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation for imaging. The new lens on the phone is touted to capture more light for brighter night and sharper action shots. A new HDR+ mode automatically snaps a rapid burst of photos and combines them to give you the best possible single shot. Another feature called Auto Awesome creates animations, photo booth shots and panoramas from your library. For connectivity it uses 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and LE, NFC and microUSB.<\/p>\n

The Nexus 5 and Android KitKat software are designed to make it easier to use Google Search and other services. It will learn about a person’s habits and needs so it can display helpful information. \u00a0Google Now also engages in richer dialogue with Nexus 5 users. KitKat lets you personalize everything from widgets to wallpaper. It’s also hands-free with voice option. Just say “Ok Google<\/span><\/strong>” to find photos, get direction or send a text message.<\/p>\n

Nexus 5 is now available for purchase on Google Playstore on US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Korea and Japan. Interestingly, the Nexus 5 has been listed on Google Play India<\/a> with a price tag of Rs. 28,999 for the 16GB variant and Rs. 32,999 for the 32GB variant.<\/strong> However, it says “Coming soon” and does not mention an actual release date.<\/p>\n
