{"id":14766,"date":"2013-11-13T13:29:24","date_gmt":"2013-11-13T07:59:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=14766"},"modified":"2013-11-13T13:29:24","modified_gmt":"2013-11-13T07:59:24","slug":"kwa-to-deliver-water-via-net-banking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/kwa-to-deliver-water-via-net-banking\/","title":{"rendered":"KWA to deliver water via Net-Banking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a bid to improve its services in the capital city, the Kerala Water Authority is planning to deliver water to customer&#8217;s doorstep via Net-banking and SMS.<\/p>\n<p>Water authority has already finalised procedures with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/listing.entecity.com\/business\/state-bank-of-travancore-2\" target=\"_blank\">State Bank of Travancore<\/a>. \u00a0To book water, consumers have to pay the required amount of money to the SBT via Net-banking. Then, SBT will inform the KWA through a message about the payment so that a KWA water tanker can reach the customer at the earliest.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The bank account for this has been opened and the account number will be made public once the internal alert system is in place.\u201d said P. Sreekumaran Nair, Chief Engineer (South), KWA, to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hindu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plans are in place to allow consumers to book tankers by sending an<strong> SMS to KWA on 85476 38181<\/strong>. These services are only for emergency situations when normal supply is disrupted or for customers who do not have water connections.<\/p>\n<p>The current system was fraught with delays and customers would have to make payments at the KWA Vellayambalam office and then wait indefinitely. The delays were prompting them to depend on private tankers, which in turn charge high amount of money from the public. The new system hopes to solve this problem.<\/p>\n<p>KWA also has plans to install card-swiping machines or card readers at its cash counters, so that customers can use their credit\/debit cards to make bill payments.
