With the movie Chennai Expres<\/a>s, the Lungi Dance<\/strong> which was hither to confined only to commercial Tamil movies has become hugely popular all over India. The dance has become so popular among the youth that most celebrations are incomplete without the boisterous Lungi Dance.<\/p>\n

But who would have thought, the humble lungi could make an entry into our own Technopark where formal wears are a must. Come November 22, Technopark<\/a> will become a venue of the ‘Red Lungi Dance League<\/strong>‘ organized by Red FM<\/a>, in association with Gitanjali Jewellers.<\/a><\/p>\n

Open only to Technopark employees, both boys and girls can take part in the competition. Teams of five can register for the competition. The competition will have two rounds- a general round in which the team members can choose a song of their choice to dance and a second round of Dappan Koothu. The finalists will be given a song to dance on the spot. It goes without saying that the costume for the dance will be lungi for all rounds.<\/p>\n

Winners stand to gain a cash prize worth Rs 20,000 while the runner up will get Rs 15,000 worth cash prize. There is also a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the \u2018Most Flashy Team\u2019.<\/p>\n

Those who wish to take part in the completion will have to register before November 15, 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
