Now, the city is ready to welcome <strong>\u2018Kudumbasree Travels\u2019<\/strong>, which was inaugurated yesterday. Kudumbasree Travels will be completely operated by well trained women drivers. The taxi service mainly targets on female passengers. However, male passengers will be allowed if there is a senior woman accompanying them. Seven taxis are to be there in service, out of which only two will be operational today. The taxies will be focussing prime areas like bus stations, railway station, IT parks etc. The taxi is provided with a GPS system which enables to track it. There is also a partition between the driver and the passenger. So, the service offers a secure way of travelling. The project is started with the help of bank loan and the subsidy provided by Kudumbasree.
