Come January, Trivandrum is going to host its first ever marathon run called TrivandruN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

‘TrivandRUN’ is the start of a new tradition and it will be held every year on the month of January for some social cause. The cause for 2014 is ‘cancErace<\/strong>‘ to raise funds for the needy cancer patients at Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Marathon is expected to be a huge event with at least 500 to 1000 people participating in different categories. TrivandRUN will flag off at 6am, on 11th January 2014, Second Saturday from Kowdiar. There are three race categories – a 10km Endurance run (walk or run) for 18yrs and above, a 1.5km fun run for 12 yrs and above and finally a 10km Corporate relay run with a team of 5 members.<\/p>\n

Those interested in taking part in the marathon will have to register their name before 4th January 2013.<\/strong> Basic registration fee is Rs150 and registration fee + a cap costs Rs250. The fee including a cap and a T-shirt costs Rs500.<\/p>\n

‘TrivandRUN’ is organized by Save A Rupee, Spread A Smile (SARSAS)<\/a>, a non-profit organization of about 50+ committed volunteers, who work for various social causes. They group offers many services such as Community Service, Educational aid, Food and Nutrition, Health and Hygiene, Animal Care and much more. Interested companies can register teams of 5 members (Each member running a 2Km leg) at a fee of Rs 10,000.<\/p>\n

Interested individuals can also participate in the first and third categories. Registration** details follow.<\/p>\n

The fun run category is open to all. You can enjoy moments of togetherness with family and friends while contributing to a wonderful cause. Registration will be on Individual basis.<\/p>\n

Companies (CSR Wing) \/ Individuals can also contribute to our Cancer fund (Rs 5000 per surgery and Rs 10,000 per chemotherapy session). You have an unique opportunity to make this 10Km Marathon experience more meaningful by not only accomplishing a personal goal on the race day, but also by contributing towards a greater cause.
