{"id":15225,"date":"2013-12-09T21:55:38","date_gmt":"2013-12-09T16:25:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/?p=15225"},"modified":"2013-12-09T21:55:38","modified_gmt":"2013-12-09T16:25:38","slug":"trida-to-rehabilitate-evicted-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entecity.com\/news\/trida-to-rehabilitate-evicted-traders\/","title":{"rendered":"TRIDA to rehabilitate evicted traders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>#EnteThiruvananthapuram<\/strong>: Traders and shops being evicted from the Thakaraparambu road and the Pazhavangady-Attakulangara stretch for the road development work will be temporarily rehabilitated at the land owned by Vanchi Poor Fund located at Overbridge.<\/p>\n<p>The rehabilitation of traders is undertaken by Thiruvananthapuram Development Authority (TRIDA).\u00a0 The decision was taken, as the plan to shift traders to the Government Central School premises at Attukalangara is dragging.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 60 shops will be constructed on the 9cents of land owned by Vanchi Poor Fund. TRIDA and the Kerala Road Fund Board will jointly fund the project.\u00a0 Vanchi Poor Fund will get over Rs.2 lakh as income by providing land for setting up the shops. As the shops would be permanent structures, the charitable organisation could later lease them out to generate income.<\/p>\n<p>The government has given sanction for building a shopping complex on the Attakulangra School to rehabilitate the 75 traders being evicted for the construction of the Thakaraparambu flyover and another 50 traders for widening the Pazhavangady-Attakkulangara stretch.<\/p>\n<p>The busy Pazhavangady-East Fort-Attakulangara stretch is to be widened and reconstructed to accommodate 6-lane traffic. The existing bus stand will be demolished and the shops constructed near the north and south of the Fort entrance will be removed. This will provide much-needed restoration to the fort wall that is a heritage structure. The road widening could be taken up only after the shops are evicted.
