Trivandrum City is blessed with many beautiful beaches. Among them, Kovalam beach tops the favourite list of tourists and localities. However, the beach has been losing its prominence due to the slackness of the officials. As an attempt to regain the glory, the beach park in Samudra beach was renovated by the Kerala State Tourism Department<\/a> and it was opened to the public last week<\/a>. However, reports say that the beach park has failed to create an impact.<\/p>\n

Even the renovated park failed to attract the tourists. The park has got a garden and a few benches, which offers people a serene glimpse of the sea. People believe that the renovation was purely waste of money as they feel no change from the old park. According to the localities, the awful condition of the beach road is the main factor which is keeping tourists away from there. Even after several pleas to repair the road, the officials completely neglected it. Also the road to Beach Park lack streetlights. This is another area of concern as people there believe that it may lead to antisocial activities in that region.<\/p>\n

No tourist spot can survive without a proper infrastructure. This is the reason why number of tourists is receding each year. The people around Samudra beach are completely blaming the Government for the fall in number of tourists. The lack of action from the responsible officials has been the reason why the tourists choose other spots to enjoy.
