\u2018Theertha Designer Studio\u2019<\/h2>\n

Theertha is an online designer studio which specialises in customized Sarees and accessories. The speciality of accessories is that they are made from polymer clay. Customized sarees enables you to choose the favourite from a variety of styles, which isn\u2019t available in the stores. Whether it is a wedding function, engagement, baptism or any function, Theertha is the online stop for you. Pick your colour; Theertha will make you look perfect with \u2018Theme based Customization\u2019. People demands variety through customization and Theertha is ready to offer it in the most stylish way.<\/p>\n

Polymer Clay Jewellery!<\/h3>\n

When I tell people that I make clay jewellery, the first image they get in their head is terracotta jewellery. When I tell them that I use polymer clay their reaction is like, “What is polymer clay?” Polymer clay is a sculptable material based on a special polymer PVC, ingredients being more relational to plastic rather than clay. Polymer Clay made its first major appearance in the United States in the 1970\u2019s.Despite its name, polymer clay is not actually a type of natural clay. The only reason it has been named so is because, it’s texture and workability is similar to that of clays which are already available. Unlike terracotta jewellery, polymer clay jewellery does not diminish as the colours do not fade and it is not very fragile or easily breakable.<\/p>\n

Why polymer clay jewellery?<\/h3>\n

She was always interested in crafts work. Her interest in polymer clay jewellery aroused as soon as she got one some years back. Out of her curiosity, she started collecting maximum details about it. She even bought some books which guides in how to use this polymer clay effectively in making accessories. This was already popular in places like United States. To make jewelleries of our style using this clay was the biggest challenge she faced. After a lot of trial and error, she was able to succeed.<\/p>\n

From the people<\/h3>\n

Theertha was launched on August 2nd<\/sup> and its official Facebook page<\/a> is already nearing 2500 likes. Sapna admits that she never went through any type of marketing techniques to promote her online store. Her clients are mainly from overseas. \u201cMy clients are Theertha\u2019s promoters. Their mouth publicity is the reason why I\u2019m getting more and more clients and good responses day-by-day\u201d<\/i>, she adds.<\/p>\n

Exposure<\/h3>\n

\u201cI wanted people to feel the \u2018offline\u2019 experience of Theertha\u201d,<\/i> she says about the exhibition that was conducted in the city last month. People are vague about the quality of the dress and accessories while seeing it online. So, the exhibition was a chance for them to feel the real quality of Theertha. Their feedbacks after coming to exhibition have really helped in convincing the people who had doubts regarding quality and all. The happiest factor for her is that after the exhibition there has been a good increase in the number of clients.<\/p>\n

\u2018Theertha and Trivandrum\u2019<\/h3>\n

She is of the opinion that Trivandrum isn\u2019t a perfect market for such stores. Customized sarees and polymer clay jewelleries have gone viral in places like Kochi since its inception. \u201cThe response from people here will be sickly, that\u2019s why I didn\u2019t opt for a boutique\u201d<\/i>, she says. Unlike Kochi, she says that our city needs time to accept a new fashion trend. The best example being majority of her customers are based out of Trivandrum. However, her love for the city is immense. She values this city a lot and that\u2019s why she chose to conduct the exhibition here itself.<\/p>\n

Why online store?<\/h3>\n

\u201cFirst of all, it\u2019s not easy to run a boutique. Secondly, Trivandrum isn\u2019t the perfect place to start one. There are many boutiques here and I have been to many of them. However, I have found many of the items there unaffordable. We can\u2019t blame them as they price the materials after covering all their expenses. But, online stores neither have much limitations nor high expenses. Running an online store gives me the privilege to sell high quality stuffs at a reasonable cost and I think that\u2019s reason why Theertha is getting popular\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Too passionate!<\/h3>\n

Theertha is more of a passion than business to her. She completed engineering in 2005, but was never interested in an IT job. \u201cProgramming was never my cup of tea\u201d,<\/i> she summarises it. She believes working in interested field brings out our maximum potential and it keeps you happy throughout. \u201cWorking in IT field may affect your family and passions, but in my case I\u2019m really happy that both are going smoothly\u201d,<\/i> says proudly.<\/p>\n

In future?<\/h3>\n

Launching Theertha\u2019s website is in the list of her immediate plans. She hopes to launch it by January 2014. Currently she focuses mainly on customized Sarees and Lehengas. She wants to focus more on Salwars too as the demand is getting higher day by day. Another exhibition is not in her plans now. She\u2019s really busy designing trendy outfits and accessories. Maybe, the New Year will witness other great ventures of Theertha, who knows?<\/p>\n
