However, there are many who love to have exquisite helmets in possession. Hareesh and Rakhin, two ardent bikers have come up with a venture to make biking accessories more familiar and friendly to the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cI and Rakhin are best friends and bikers. We usually go on trips. Actually, we were planning to start a unique venture here. The fact that there aren\u2019t any unique shops for biking accessories here urged us to start such an initiative\u201d, says Hareesh about \u2018The Helmet World\u2019.<\/p>\n

Helmet World can be named a paradise for the bikers, as it deals biking accessories such as imported premium helmets, jackets and gloves. The helmet collection includes brands like HJC, THH, LS2, SOL, Vega, Steelbird<\/strong> etc. More brands will be added soon according to the interest of the customers.<\/p>\n

The shop is getting good support from the biker clubs and groups here. The response from the people has been overwhelming, so that they plan to introduce more varieties of helmets in the coming days. They are the Kerala dealers of the India\u2019s leading bike accessories company \u2018Performance Racing\u2019. Since they are the dealers of imported and Indian helmet products, the prices are fixed in a reasonable way. \u201cHere, majority of the shops are selling helmets and other accessories at a huge rate. Even the response from the shopkeepers when we approach them to buy a helmet is very bad at times.<\/p>\n

In Trivandrum, there aren\u2019t many shops which give ladies the option to go and choose their comfortable one. However, we have section for ladies alone, they can come and pick their favourite helmet in peace\u201d, adds Rakhin.<\/p>\n

Long back, Hareesh and Rakhin have wished for such a shop in Trivandrum. They admit that it was difficult to get biking accessories here till recently. Either you have to shop it online or order it from Kochi. With the coming of Helmet World<\/a>, everything has changed drastically here; Bikers\u2019 needs are fulfilled at a reasonable price. \u201cStarting this venture at Trivandrum was always risky. But, if people are provided with good and safe quality stuffs, even our city will be the best market for any business. We thoroughly support the new rules by the government. It\u2019s for our safety that such rules are being made strict. We are glad that number of accidents are getting reduced day by day<\/strong><\/em>\u201d, says Hareesh.<\/p>\n

However, they are disappointed about the fact that the government has charged helmets with a tax of 14.5%, which comes under the category of luxury tax. They are of the opinion that a government which give high priority to people\u2019s safety should cut down the tax in benefit of the customers. LS2, THH, HJC etc are the most popular helmet brands among the people here. Their future is going bright and they are planning to open another showroom at Karamana soon. They also deal high cost helmets and jackets, but only by order. \u201cWithin a month, we will be providing the bikers with full riding gear. Our main aim is to make Trivandrum a biker\u2019s hub. Whether to Leh or to the nearby Ponmudi, everyone loves to have a stop at our shop\u201d, happily adds the friends who may plan another trip soon!<\/p>\n
