This unique venture was planned by the Tourism Department and KSRTC to connect the best tourist spots of the city. The project announced by Tourism Minister Shri A P Anil Kumar aimed at conducting tours in the city using AC Volvo buses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Also Read:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.entecity.com\/entecity-coms-top-10-most-popular-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\">EnteCity.com\u2019s Top 10 Most Popular Stories<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The marketing section of the project was to be looked after by the Tourism Department, whereas KSRTC will supply the buses and staffs. The working of this project is simple. You have to board a bus, buy a ticket and hop off at a spot of interest. After spending some time there, you can hop on the next Hop on-Hop off bus that comes your way. Ticket buying is a onetime process. The buses were to have facilities of internet and information about various tourist spots. The project was to cover spots such as<strong> East Fort, Kovalam, Veli, Shangumugham, Akkulam, Napier Museum and Zoo and the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum at PMG.<\/strong> Volvo buses were to pass every 45 minutes through the designed route.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s known that the KSRTC backed out of the project due to the shortage of buses. However, Tourism Department clarifies that they haven\u2019t received any sort of notification from KSRTC regarding the back out. The ultimate result is that our city is losing another great project which would have boosted our Tourism sector. If things would have taken off, our city would have been the first to have this service.
