#Automotive:<\/strong> Honda Motors launched the highly anticipated fourth-generation Honda City which also has a diesel variant for the first time in the sedan’s history. The petrol variant is available at a starting price of Rs 7.42 lakh while diesel variant will be available at a starting price of Rs 8.62 lakh.<\/p>\n

The Honda City Diesel<\/strong> uses Amaze\u2019s power plant which is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine belting out 100 PS and 200 Nm, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Earth Dreams diesel engine will provide a great mix of performance and efficiency. According to Honda, the new car’s DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine, developed exclusively for India, will be the most fuel efficient in its class. Honda claims a very high mileage of 26kmpl that is higher than any of its rivals.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Honda City Petrol<\/strong> <\/em>is powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which now outputs 119 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque, coupled to both 5-speed manual and 7-step CVT automatic transmissions. The petrol variant offers a mileage of 18 kmpl.<\/p>\n

The 2014 Honda City is having the same length as the older model but is 10 mm taller. Rear legroom in the new City has been increased by 50mm while front shoulder room has increased by 40mm to have more cabin space. The detailed instrument cluster will provide all the details to the driver and also help the driver in getting maximum efficiency with the ‘Econ’ mode. The new City has a start-stop button and a touch screen AC panel. The exterior features include – sunroof, Shark-fin antenna and foldable ORVMs with turn blinkers.<\/p>\n

Honda is offering 12 variants of City – 5 for the petrol, 5 for the diesel and 2 for the automatic. All variants come with a driver side airbag, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, ABS and EBD as standard.\u00a0The top end VX variants get sunroof, leather seats, button start\/stop and smart key system.\u00a0 While the V variants gets 15-inch alloy wheels, 5-inch screen with rear parking camera and electrically folding rear-view mirrors.<\/p>\n

New Honda City will come with 6 colour options- Golden Brown Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Tafetta White, Albester Silver Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.<\/p>\n

Honda City Diesel delivery will start immediately while the petrol variant deliveries will start by mid February. Honda City has received more than 9000 bookings before the launch.<\/p>\n
